What is Halal?

Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. Within Muslim faith all foods are considered Halal except the following:

* Pork and its by-products
* Animals improperly slaughtered ie Stunned or dead before slaughtering
* Animals killed in the name of anyone other than ALLAH (God)
* Alcohol and intoxicants
* Foods contaminated with any of the above products

What is Halicious?

Halicious is UK based organisation which is committed to sourcing and providing a wide range of Halal based products including meats, drinks, snacks, cooking ingrediants, and many more grocery and household products. The Halicious brand has been developed in the UK to increase the accessibility of Halal food products. There are many exciting and delicious Halal products across the world, the purpose of Halicious is to bring all these products together and make them available to you to be puchased securely on line and delivered direct to your door.

We check all of our suppliers certification to ensure that any gelatine used is from cattle slaughtered in accordance with Islamic Law offering complete transparency and traceability. In addition we inspect manufacturing plants to ensure that all machinery used in production is not cleansed with any alchohol based prodcuts and that the packaging does not contain any alchohol based solvents.

Halal Meat Deliveries

In January 2007, Halicious launched the first Halal UK meat delivery service. The meat is supplied fresh from our own locally run slaughterhouse which prides itself in its dedication to supplying meats from animals slaughtered in strict accordance with the guidleines set out by Islamic Law. The meats are cut to your specification, vacumm packed and then delivered direct to your door in specially designed chilled containers which ensure that the meat remains below 5 degrees celsius at all times. Please Note : Although we endeavour to meet your exact requirements, due to availability and fluctuations in carcass sizing, weights may vary slightly All prices quoted are for gross weight.

Delivery Costs
Our delivery charge is a flat fee of £4.99 regardless of quantity and weight. For chilled products including ie Meats, there is an additional charge of £10. This fee is to cover our costs for the materials used to chilled the specially designed containers.

We can deliver your order on any day that suits you, from Tuesday to Saturday inclusive (Saturday delivery incurs a £5 surcharge).

Your order will be delivered any time between 8.30am and 5.30pm on the day that you have specified. Unfortunately it is not possible to stipulate a time for delivery, it is therefore essential that, when ordering, you provide instructions for the courier, should you happen to be out when your goods are delivered. This could be an alternative delivery address such as a neighbour, or safe place to leave your box such as a patio or garage, this does not include a front doorstep.

When ordering, you can also arrange delivery to your workplace, or to a neighbour or friend if it's more convenient, all for no extra charge.

We cannot accept any liability for goods that have been sent back to the depot and perished.

Delivery packaging
Your order is made up the day before your requested delivery date and sent by overnight courier. All your goods are packed in presentation boxes and securely wrapped in ice packs and bubble wrap. Your order is then placed in a strong, re-usable cool-box which prevents warming and protects your goods from knocks and bumps. Independent tests have shown that our unique travel packs keep the your order chilled during transit.

The Future

Insha Allah, we are looking to add a online community to the Halicious site, which we hope will encourage users to share thier views on halal food, recipes, islamic issues and to make new friends.
